Rs 6 Billion housing scandal: LHC rejects plea of former senator Waqar Ahmad for one day protective bail

Lahore: Lahore High Court (LHC) has rejected plea of former senator Waqar Ahmad seeking approval for his one day protective bail.He is accused in Rs 6 billion housing scandal.The court while upholding registrar office objections declared the petition non maintainable.The interim bail plea of former senator Waqar Ahmad Khan accused in alleged fraud of Rs 6 billion in private housing scandal.A two members bench of LHC led by Justice Farooq Haider took up the plea for hearing Wednesday.NAB prosecutor Waris Ali Janjua appeared in the court.President LHC Bar said we had filed petition again yesterday. The attested copies were not attached with it. Due to it registrar office raised objections.Justice Farooq Haider remarked what is purpose of filing petition again today. What do you want to prove. Is request made to suspend any notification in any application .The counsel for the accused said whenever a petition comes in the court it should be safeguarded.Justice Farooq Haider remarked no number was marked on your bail plea. The objections over the petition are absolutely correct. We send back this petition within 10 to 15 minutes. When will you remove these objections we don't know.The court rejected plea of accused for approving his one day protective bail.The court while upholding the objections on petition declared it non maintainable.
