Rule of Constitution, law essential for country’s progress: Liaqat Baloch

Karachi: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan Acting Ameer Liaqat Baloch, stated that only the supremacy of the Constitution and the law can move the country forward in the right direction.The JI leader expressed these views while addressing a convention of party office bearers at Idara Noor-e-Haq - the JI Karachi headquarters. Liaqat Baloch remarked that whenever a political vacuum arises in Pakistan, the civil and military bureaucracy rushes in to fill it with its own players - a practice that must now come to an end.Liaqat Baloch emphasized that the public's mandate must be acknowledged. The hybrid system run on the basis of power does not adhere to any constitutional or legal framework, he added. He criticized the PPP, the PML-N, and the MQM, saying they were content under the umbrella of the hybrid system merely for the chance of some perks. He also said that the 26th Constitutional Amendment had beheaded the judiciary and deprived the public of justice.Talking about the national issues, he said that des pite differences, the Pakistani nation was united in the face of Indian aggression, becoming a wall of steel due to the power of its ideology. However, attempting to 'conquer' 250 million people with force would be a mistake. On the occasion, he condemned enforced disappearances and the usurpation of provincial rights.Talking about the international front, he declared that the United States and India are neither friends of Pakistan nor Afghanistan, and welcomed the Doha Agreement. He urged the Taliban to review their policies and ensure that Afghan soil is not used against Pakistan.He further said that peaceful Pak-Afghan relations are vital for regional stability and that respected scholars on both sides should work together to resolve issues. He warned that America is not trustworthy and criticized Pakistani authorities for mistreating Afghan refugees, saying the manner in which they were expelled could lead to future problems for Pakistan. A more respectful solution would have been better, he added.L iaqat Baloch, also happened to be the head of the upcoming 'Ijtema-e-Aam' (public gathering) in Lahore, further said that the event is part of a historic and longstanding tradition since the party's founding in 1941. The upcoming 16th national gathering will be held from November 21 to 23 at Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore. He explained that the Ijtema is not merely a gathering, rally, or power show, but a means to spread the message of the Quran and Sunnah to the Muslim Ummah. For this purpose, 50 departments and 14 deputy organizers have been appointed. Special emphasis was placed on the role of Karachi's organizers in the success of the event, where women, children, and families will also participate in large numbers.
