Islamabad: Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has assumed the responsibilities of Acting President of Pakistan under Article 49(2) of the Constitution.

The Cabinet Division has issued an official notification confirming that Sardar Ayaz Sadiq will serve as Acting President in the absence of both the President and the Chairman Senate.

He will continue to discharge these responsibilities until their return to the country.
