Karachi: Supreme Court (SC) has issued notice to girl student and respondents on the appeal plea filed by college administration against high court decision over dispute of excessive admission in Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Medical college Liyari.
In SC Karachi registry appeal plea filed by college administration against high court decision over admission came up for hearing before 3-member bench of SC presided over by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Yahya Afridi Tuesday.
Counsel for medical college took the plea admission quota is allotted by PMDC to all medical colleges. Quota of 15 seats has been given for Liyari town in Liyari medical college. The admission of affected girl student does not fall in Liyari town. The admissions will exceed than the set quota due to implementation of high court decision. Possibility is there PMDC may not acknowledge degree of girl student on the basis of excessive admissions.
The court inquired is the affected girl student present in the court.
The amicus curiae said court notice could not be received by girl student.
Justice Muhammad Shafi remarked the girl student should be allowed to continue education unless the matter is resolved. If she is stopped then her education will be affected.
The court while issuing notice to girl student and other respondents for next session adjourned the hearing of the appeal.
