Islamabad: Supreme Court (SC) has rejected bail plea of one Abdul Wadood accused in smuggling of one kilogram heroin.

The court has directed trial court to decide the case within 60 days.

The court has remarked if the case is not decided in 60 days then the accused can apply for bail again.

Justice Jamal Mandokhail remarked ” ANF procedure was good but it remains no more good now. The real owners of drugs are not caught till todate. The informer informs about smuggling from vehicle but he does not tell about the real owners. Informer never gives information at the time of loading drugs in the vehicle. He does not say the ANF does not know about real culprits. The court does not give decisions under influence of emotions. One kilogram heroin is too much.

A two members bench of SC presided over by Justice Jamal Mandokhail took up the case for hearing.

The counsel for the accused took the plea the case of my accused is fit case of bail. Neither any video recording, nor witnesses , nor evidence. It is claimed ANF is superior agency of the country.

Justice Jamal Mandokhail inquired which is superior agency , it will have to be settled.

State counsel said overall 10 kilograms heroin was recovered from a truck. The petitioner was conductor. One kilogram recovery was shown against him.

The court rejected the bail plea.
