Islamabad: Supreme Court (SC) constitutional bench has rejected the plea for suspending Senate Election Schedule on vacant seat of PTI leader Shibli Faraz.

A five members SC constitutional bench presided over by justice Amin ud Din Khan took up the petition for hearing Wednesday.

SC constitutional bench while nullifying Peshawar High Court (PHC) decision on the appeal of Shibli Faraz has wrapped up appeal.

The court ordered PHC to give decision on pending petition of Shibli Faraz.

Rejecting the plea for stopping election on vacant seat of Shibli Faraz, remarked court will not interfere in Senate election.

During the hearing of case barrister Gohar said there is election of senate on vacant seat of Shibli Faraz tomorrow. It is requested to suspend the election schedule.

Justice Hassan Azhar Rizvi remarked why are you seeking stay order when you have nominated candidate for Senate election.

Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail remarked nominating the candidate was a compulsion.

Justice Hassan Azhar Rizvi while moving to barrister Gohar said `you are chairman PTI. Why are you seeking stay order when PTI candidate has been nominated. Election is going to be held on how many seats.

Counsel barrister Gohar told the court election is being held on one seat only.. You please issue stay order on election and stop Senate election.

SC constitutional bench abolished the decision of PHC for adjourning the case for indefinite period.

The court directed PHC to decide the case after hearing the respondents.
