Islamabad: Supreme Court (SC) constitutional bench has sought audit report from federal, provincial governments, ERRA and Auditor General of Pakistan in respect of funds for reconstruction and rehabilitation of quake affectees.
Justice Hassan Rizvi member of the bench has remarked 20 years will be completed in October 2025 regarding earthquake. Is the project for quake affectees for 50 years. It seems as if the projects regarding rehabilitation of quake affectees will not be completed after 50 years.
Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar remarked where are the projects which have been completed. The projects were worked out for human beings or for jinns.
SC constitutional bench presided over by Justice Amin ud Din Khan took up the case for hearing Wednesday.
Justice Jamal Mandokhail remarked if resources are not there then why government announces such projects.
Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar remarked how many homes were constructed for quake affectees and financial assistance was given to how many affectees in business.
The petitioner said government had announced to construct New Bala Kot city. SC had given time of 30 months to government in connection with New Bala Kot city. Nothing has been done so far regarding New Bala Kot city.
ERRA representative told the court we have completed more than 14000 projects for quake affectees.
Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar said where are those projects which have been completed. The projects were made for men or jinns.
Justice Jamal Mandokhail said as to why chairman ERRA be not called.
Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar remarked how much amount had come from donors and this amount is where.
Additional Attorney General (AAG) said the entire money has been spent.
The court while summoning the reports adjourned the hearing of the case.
