Islamabad: Supreme Court (SC) has sought reply from ministry of defence in regard to rules applicable to school teachers during the hearing of the case related to upgradation of PT Teachers of PAF Lower Topa Murree Hills.

The counsel for the petitioners took the plea the employees were appointed in grade-7 . As per cadre rules they should be granted grade 7.

The state counsel told the court cadre laws don't apply to employees.

Justice Ayesha Malik remarked the situation will not become clear this way. You should take the stance after asking from defence ministry.

It is pertinent to mention here the service tribunal had given decision in favor of teachers of Lower Toppa Murree PAF college.

The government has challenged this decision in Supreme Court.
