Senate Committee Forms Sub-Committee to Review Housing Allocation for Journalists and Media Workers

Islamabad: The Senate Standing Committee on Information and Broadcasting has constituted a three-member sub-committee to review the allocation of residential plots and flats for journalists and media workers by the Federal Employees Housing Society.

Senator Waqar Mehdi has been appointed convener of the sub-committee, while Senator Jan Muhammad and Senator Abdul Shakoor are its other members. The sub-committee will review measures taken by the Federal Employees Housing Society to ensure transparent allocation of residential plots and flats to journalists and media workers.

It will particularly examine steps taken to ensure transparent and timely allocation of plots and flats according to the quota designated for journalists of Islamabad and Rawalpindi. The sub-committee has been directed to submit its report to the Senate Standing Committee on Information and Broadcasting within 60 days.
