Rawalpindi:Security forces killed 17 Indian-sponsored terrorists belonging to Fitna Al Hindustan and Fitna Al Khawarij during two intelligence-based operations in Balochistan on November 1, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Tuesday.
According to the military's media wing, the operations were conducted in Kachhi and Kharan districts following reports about the presence of terrorists.
During the first operation in the Sanni area of Kachhi district, security forces foiled an attempt by terrorists to establish a roadblock in the city through timely and proactive action, killing 10 terrorists. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the site.
In a separate intelligence-based operation in Kharan district, security forces raided a terrorist hideout. Following an intense exchange of fire, seven terrorists belonging to Fitna Al Khawarij were killed.
However, Sepoy Hikmat Ullah, 25, a resident of District Karak, embraced martyrdom while fighting gallantly during the exchange of fire.
The ISPR said sanitization operations were underway to eliminate any other Indian-sponsored terrorists present in the areas.
It added that the counterterrorism campaign under the vision of "Azm-e-Istehkam", as approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, would continue with full force to eliminate the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country.
