Karachi: Sindh High Court (SHC) has nullified the subordinate court order for blocking the National Identity Card (NIC).
Justice Muhammad Hassan Akbar of SHC has issued written decision on the petition filed against blocking NIC in a financial dispute.
According to order blocking NIC is illegal and violation of basic human rights.
The court observed no room is there in any law for blocking NIC. Supreme Court has made it clear there is no clause for blocking NIC. There is even no basis for blocking NIC under criminal procedure law.
It has been said in the court's order blocking NIC has been discouraged under NADRA Ordinance-2000. The life of citizen stands paralyzed due to blockage of NIC.
The facilities of education, health, employment and banking are affected due to blockage of NIC.
It is pertinent to mention here the petitioner Muhammad Rashid had challenged senior civil judge South order for blocking NIC.
