Karachi: Alkhidmat Karachi's two-day 'Pre-Monsoon Training' organized by its Disaster Management department to prepare volunteers for potential emergencies and disasters during the upcoming monsoon season concluded recently. The training program was held at the Gadap Kirthar Range, where volunteers from across the city participated. Expert trainers provided practical training on the use of modern rescue equipment, water rescue, height rescue, firefighting, emergency response, and safety measures to ensure quick and effective action during emergency situations.CEO Alkhidmat Karachi Naveed Ali Baig visited the training camp, observed various stages of the exercises, and encouraged the volunteers. The closing ceremony was attended by Executive Director Alkhidmat Karachi Rashid Qureshi, CPLC Head of Task Force Project Amir Hassan, Chief Karachi Fire Brigade Humayun Khan, Saeed Jadoon, Child Star reporter Owais Shahzad, SIHES 1122 Manager Command and Control Operations Humayun Mansoor, Head of Neurology Depar tment at Jinnah Hospital Professor Lal Rehman, Senior Manager Manzar Alam, and Senior Manager Disaster Management Sarfaraz Sheikh. At the conclusion of the two-day training program, a certificate distribution ceremony was held in which participants were awarded certificates in recognition of their dedication, hard work, and successful completion of the training.Addressing the participants during his visit, Naveed Ali Baig said that saving one human life is equal to saving all of humanity. He emphasized that helping and rescuing people in difficult times is among the greatest acts of service and has no substitute. He stated that the core objective of the training is humanitarian service and that volunteers should always keep this purpose in mind. He added that when individuals dedicate themselves to such noble work, they also earn the pleasure and support of Allah. He further said that during the monsoon season, when heavy rains and emergencies occur, volunteers play an important role by rescuing and assisti ng affected people. Therefore, they should remain fully prepared for every possible challenge and emergency situation.Executive Director Rashid Qureshi said that a large number of young people are joining Alkhidmat's Volunteer Management Program as volunteers. He added that Alkhidmat is equipping them with practical training and skills to effectively respond to emergencies and become more beneficial for society. He congratulated all volunteers who successfully completed the Disaster Management training program.
