Karachi: Sindh High Court (SHC) has expressed concern over delay in investigation into Karachi airport suicide attack case.
Bail plea of the accused Gul Nisa arrested in suicide attack on foreign citizens near Karachi airport came up for hearing in SHC Thursday.
Shaukat Hayat advocate appeared on behalf of the accused in the court.
The counsel took the plea during the hearing of the case six months have passed since Gul Nisa has been arrested. But police could not file final challan of the case in the court so far.
He said interim challan presented by police is only document and it should be considered final.
The counsel requested the court to provide JIT report and copy of documents related to alleged links with proscribed organization.
Shoukat Hayat advocate took the plea prosecution is using dilatory tactics so that the proceedings of the bail could be prolonged.
Investigation officer told the court process of preparation of final challan is becoming delayed due to forensic process. 3 USPs were sent to forensic lab. Therefore, permission has been sought from the court to deseal USPs.
Justice Zafar Rajput remarked we cannot give direction to provide JIT report at this stage .
