Karachi: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Saturday issued notices to the Inspector General (IG) of Sindh Police and other senior officials in a petition seeking the recovery of two minor sisters who went missing near Clifton beach.

The court directed the police authorities to recover 14-year-old Bebo and six-year-old Alina and produce them before the court on July 8.

The court also issued notices to the Additional IG Karachi, Deputy Inspectors General (DIGs), SSP Jacobabad and other concerned officials.

According to the petitioner's counsel, Bushra Abbas Advocate, the two girls are daughters of a poor rickshaw driver, Hayatullah, and used to sell flowers to support their father financially.

She informed the court that the girls had left home on May 12 to sell flowers but never returned.

The counsel submitted that the family searched for the children everywhere but failed to trace them. She further alleged that despite approaching the local police station, police officials refused to register an FIR.

The petitioner requested the court to order the immediate recovery of the missing girls, direct an inquiry under the supervision of DIG Aamir Farooqi or Tanveer Alam Odho, and provide protection to the petitioner and family members.
