Karachi: Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Monem Zafar Khan has said Alkhidmat is a ray of hope for the youth, adding that young people must come out of despair, move forward and play their role in changing the destiny of the country.Monem Zafar Khan expressed these views while addressing, as chief guest, the orientation ceremony of Alkhidmat Karachi's Social Internship Program held at a local hall, on Saturday.CEO Alkhidmat and Chairman Bano Qabil Program Pakistan Naveed Ali Baig and Executive Director Rashid Qureshi also addressed the ceremony. Secretary Information Zahid Askari and Senior Manager Volunteer Management Program Asadullah Qureshi were also present on the occasion. Hundreds of male and female students from various universities of Karachi attended the event.Monem Zafar said that Alkhidmat's Social Internship Program would create opportunities for young people and help nurture their abilities.He said that the Bano Qabil Program was the vision of Engr Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, aimed at bring ing Karachi's youth out of hopelessness, and that the initiative had now spread across the country. He added that 2 million young people had registered themselves in the Bano Qabil Program, while 500,000 across the country had already benefited from it.He said that Pakistan had been created on the basis of the Kalima Tayyaba so that an Islamic system could be established here, but even today the country remained far from its real objectives and the people continued to suffer from multiple problems. He said Karachi was the country's largest and highest tax-paying city, yet its roads were in poor condition and citizens were facing severe difficulties, including electricity, water and transport issues.Addressing the youth, he said Islam does not encourage despair and that Alkhidmat wanted to pull young people out of hopelessness by providing them with opportunities. He said it was encouraging that hundreds of college and university students were joining Alkhidmat's Social Internship Program, and added that t he entire Alkhidmat team deserved appreciation for working with dedication for the youth.Speaking on the occasion, Naveed Ali Baig said that Alkhidmat would organize a grand Karachi Youth Summit in September, which would be the biggest such event in the city. He said that 100,000 youth in Karachi had graduated from Alkhidmat's Bano Qabil Program, which was currently being run successfully across the country.He said that in the present era, technology was changing every day and young people must equip themselves with modern skills and remain updated. He added that Pakistan's freelancing exports had reached $1.4 billion. Referring to the education situation in Karachi, he said that around 400,000 young people quit education after matriculation and intermediate, and urged them to avoid despair and instead choose a better direction for their future.Naveed Ali Baig also urged the youth to join Alkhidmat's volunteer program and dedicate their abilities to the service of humanity.
