SHC summons report on evolving code of conduct regarding student unions election within 5 weeks

Karachi: Sindh High Court (SHC) has sought within 5 weeks report on evolving code of conduct regarding students union election on a petition seeking restoration of students unions.

As per media reports the petition seeking restoration of students union in educational institutions came up for hearing in SHC Wednesday.

Usman Farooq advocate counsel for the petitioner took the plea that request was made for holding students unions election. The court had sought clarification from ministry of universities and boards on steps regarding restoration of the students unions . Director legal of Karachi university had filed reply.

Counsel Usman Farooq gave stance it was said in the reply that work on preparing rules and regulations in connection with students unions elections has been started. Central students advisory council of Karachi university has worked out the proposed constitution for students unions which has been sent to secretary universities too.

The court summoned report on evolving code of conduct regarding student union election within five weeks.

The petition was filed by the petitioner Taimore Ahmad and other students through Usman Farooq Advocate.
