Sindh govt forms its power authority, announces to provide inexpensive electricity to people of Karachi

Karachi: Sindh government has formed its power authority announcing to provide inexpensive electricity to people of Karachi.

As per media reports Energy minister Sindh Nasir Hussain Shah has said inexpensive electricity will be provided to people of Karachi now.

In a statement Nasir Hussain Shah has said Sindh Electric Power Regulatory Authority (SEPRA) has been got approved from Sindh Assembly (SA) constitutionally. Appointments have been made in SEPRA. Its notification will be issued this month.

He held now people of Karachi will be able to get inexpensive electricity. We will determine power tariff now. Tariff of inexpensive Electricity will be far lower than K-Electric tariff.

He said the tariff of electricity to be transmitted will have no relevance with NEPRA tariff. We ourselves will generate electricity and transmit it on our own under STDC, The tariff of electricity to be transmitted from STDC will be far less than NEPRA.
