Srinagar: The New Delhi-controlled State Investigation Agency (SIA), together with Indian paramilitary forces, carried out house raids in Srinagar, Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

According to reporter, the SIA and paramilitary personnel raided the residence of air-conditioning technician Tufail Niyaz Butt in the Batamaloo area of Srinagar. During the search, the family was reportedly harassed and terrorized by the forces, who continue to operate with impunity under the draconian Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA).

Tufail Niyaz Butt is already in custody of Indian police and agencies in a purported case related to the Red Fort blast in New Delhi.

The SIA and paramilitary personnel also searched other homes in the city and interrogated several individuals, continuing a pattern of raids and intimidation against residents of Srinagar.
