Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has been told that SP Organized crime unit and SHO secretariat have been removed from their posts in the case against keeping citizen Ali Muhammad under illegal detention.
The court was further told that decision has been taken to constitute JIT for departmental proceedings and letter has been written to interior secretary. The matter related to allegation of corruption against police authorities has been referred to FIA.
IG Islamabad informed IHC about the matters. Upon it the court wrapped up the matter after IG statement.
The case against keeping citizen Ali Muhammad in illegal detention came up for hearing in IHC Thursday.
Case was heard by Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani.
IG Islamabad said JIT was constituted for facts. No officer involved in the matter will be spared. Special investigation team was framed. Departmental inquiry is being held.
The assistant counsel requested counsel is on the way therefore, interval be made during hearing.
Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani said he is not needed at present. IG was called and he came.
IG Islamabad said court had given order in this matter. There was a name in the statement and there was post of one. JIT was constituted.
Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani inquired how much time is needed for investigation.
IG Islamabad said we are working fast . The investigation will be completed soon.
The court allowed IG Islamabad to go.
The court announced interval till the arrival of counsel for petitioner.
IG Islamabad Ali Nasir Rizvi told the court after interval in the presence of petitioner SHO and SP have been removed from their posts. We are constituting JIT in connection with all the facts. No involved officer will be spared.
IG told the court interior secretary has to constitute joint investigation team. Letter has been written to him. Special investigation team has also been constituted. Departmental inquiry is being conducted. Corruption related matter has been sent to FIA. Court had ordered to register FIR on this matter. However JIT has been constituted.
Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani inquired how much time is needed for investigation.
IG said petitioner has been called who has not joined investigation. We are working fast. Investigation will be completed soon.
The counsel for petitioner Sher Afzal Marwat said if petition is wrapped up now then we have no objection.
