Islamabad: Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq met with the Speaker of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh Syed Awais Qadir Shah, the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Syed Tariq Fatemi, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi and MNA Mir Amer Ali Khan Magsi on Thursday at the Parliament House, Islamabad.During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on strengthening cooperation among legislative institutions, promoting parliamentary linkages, ensuring effective legislation, and further enhancing coordination between the Federation and the provinces.Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq emphasized that close interactions and consultations among all legislative bodies are essential for the stability and continuity of the democratic system.Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said that effective coordination between the National and Provincial Assemblies plays a vital role in improving the legislative process. He noted that parliamentary cooperation not only helps in addressing public issues more efficiently but also contributes to the promotion of democratic values and institutional stability.Speaker Sindh Assembly, Syed Awais Qadir Shah stressed the need for joint initiatives to strengthen parliamentary cooperation and said that the exchange of experiences between provincial and federal legislatures would help improve the quality of legislation.Special Assistant to the Prime Minister, Syed Tariq Fatemi termed the promotion of parliamentary relations as a pressing need of the time and stated that harmony between the Federation and the provinces is indispensable for policy formulation in the national interest. The meeting also included an exchange of views on the country's political situation, important national matters, and other issues of mutual interest.Later on, the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, also called on the Speaker National Assembly at the Parliament House, Islamabad. During the meeting, both leaders discussed the overall political situation of the country, national issues, parl iamentary affairs, and matters relating to coordination between the Federation and the provinces.The Speaker National Assembly reiterated that consultation and mutual cooperation among all constitutional and legislative institutions are essential for strengthening democracy. He emphasized that Parliament is the true representative of the aspirations of the people, and the process of legislation and policy-making in the national interest should move forward through consensus. He further stated that strong coordination between the Federation and the provinces is crucial for national stability, development, and public welfare.Governor Faisal Karim Kundi appreciated the role of Parliament and reaffirmed his commitment that the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would continue to work closely with the Federation for the promotion of democratic values and the resolution of public issues.
