Islamabad: The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMandDC) has expressed serious concern over the issues highlighted in the recent meeting of the National Assembly's Standing Committee on National Health Services, assuring students, parents and stakeholders that practical and student-friendly solutions are being developed.

A PMandDC spokesperson said the Council is fully committed to maintaining uniform, transparent and fair examination standards. Digitalization and standardization processes are being further strengthened to ensure equal, merit-based opportunities for all students.

To resolve the issue of vacant seats, the Council, in coordination with universities and the Law Division, is preparing a legally robust and transparent mechanism aimed at preventing seat wastage and ensuring the timely placement of eligible candidates.

PMandDC is also in close coordination with the IBCC to ensure fairness between Cambridge-system and local board students. The Council emphasized that it is responsible for guaranteeing equitable grade conversions and academic facilitation for all foreign-system students.

Reaffirming its student-centric approach, PMandDC stated that every student is an integral part of the system, and their academic interests will be protected at all costs. The Council pledged full cooperation at all forums to provide maximum relief to students, reiterating that all decisions are based on merit, transparency, and national standards.

The Council further assured that PMandDC will continue to function as a professional, transparent and student-focused regulator committed to strengthening Pakistan's medical and dental education system in line with international benchmarks.
