Islamabad: Students and citizens in Rawalpindi have staged strong protest against alleged rape of a girl in Punjab college Lahore .The agitating people broke the glasses of buildings of different campus of colleges and set ablaze furniture and other items of colleges located in different areas .In certain areas, teachers and staff of colleges were taken hostage.Shelling ,stoning and holding sloganeering continued .Police have taken over 150 persons into custody from different localities.Despite announcement by college a day before for holiday in all campus and online classes, students in large number came on roads and staged severe protest outside campus on service road adjacent to 6th road, Jhelum road and Islamabad Express high way and Gujjar Khan campus.Heavy contingent of police were deployed.Due to tense situation the road from sixth road to Siddiqui chowk was closed.The demonstrators set ablaze building of Quaid campus Islamabad adjacent to Islamabad Expressway and they held ma le and female teachers hostage.According to campus sources students entered into campus building and police failed to stop them.According to police spokesperson the process of identifying the students has been started through video footages and pictures. 150 persons involved in vandalizing have been taken into custody.
