Islamabad: Supreme Court (SC) has adjourned till August 20 hearing of the petition seeking cancellation of bail of 49 accused in the case related to suicide attack on Chinese engineers in the area of Basham KP.

The court directed the accused persons to appear with their counsel on next hearing otherwise their bail can be cancelled. Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan remarked " you are charged with facilitating terrorism. Take this matter serious and engage a lawyer.

A two members bench of SC led by Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan took up the case for hearing. Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan inquired during the hearing of the case are the accused persons appearing in trial court. Do they want to seek services of the lawyer.

One co-accused reply " we are poor people. We run hand driven carts and we cannot engage lawyer. Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan remarked " you are charged with facilitating terrorism. Take this matter serious and engage lawyer.

The court further said the sim card of co-accused Nazir Qasim was under the use of suicide attacker. Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan made it clear that the accused should appear with their lawyer otherwise the bail will be cancelled.

The court while adjourning the hearing till August 20 has ordered the accused persons to appear with counsel.
