Supdt Adiala jail, prosecution put on notice on petition seeking constitution of medical board for medical check up of Imran Khan

Rawalpindi: Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) Rawalpindi while issuing notice to superintendent Adiala jail and prosecution on the petition filed in connection with medical check up of PTI founder has sought reply on August 29.

Aleema Khan sister of Imran Khan has filed the petition through her counsels requesting for constitution of medical board for complete medical check up particularly eyes check up of PTI founder.

The petition said that during meeting in jail former chairman PTI has complained for immense stress and blurry vision in eyes.

Former chairman PTI who is 73 years old is kept in jail since more than two years. His last medical check up was conducted on November 4 last year. While his medical checkup has not been conducted despite repeated written petitions.

It has been said in the petition they don't have trust on the doctors working under the sitting Punjab and Federal government. Therefore, personal doctors of PTI founder be included in medical board and medical board be constituted by including Dr Faisal Sultan physician of Shaukat Khanum hospital and professor Fuad Ahmad Khan head of eyes department of Rawalpindi medical university.

The petition said former chairman PTI has been kept deprived of basic rights of prisoner. He has been kept in solitary confinement several times. Therefore court should order superintendent Adiala jail for establishment of medical board immediately.

The court while accepting the petition for hearing issued notice to superintendent Adiala jail and prosecution and adjourned the hearing till August 29.
