Teachers Are the Architects of the Nation and the Beauty of Society: Prof. Dr. Farooq Afzal

Lahore: Principal Ameer-ud-Din Medical College (AMC), Prof. Dr. Farooq Afzal, has said that teachers are the true builders of the nation, guiding the youth and serving as beacons of hope for a brighter and more prosperous future.

In his message on World Teachers' Day, Prof. Dr. Farooq Afzal emphasized that a teacher is not only a source of knowledge but also a role model for character-building, moral education, and intellectual growth. He said the ability, commitment, and dedication of teachers play a fundamental role in shaping the future of the young generation.

'Teachers are like candles that burn themselves to illuminate the paths of others,' he remarked, adding that Islamic teachings grant teachers the status of spiritual parents. He noted that nations which honor their teachers excel in knowledge, ethics, and development.

He underscored that respect and dignity for teachers must go beyond words and be reflected in practical actions, including better facilities, involvement in decision-making, and recognition of their professional dignity.

Highlighting the importance of manners and discipline, he advised students to follow the principle:

'With respect comes success; without respect, failure is inevitable.'

Prof. Dr. Farooq Afzal extended his heartfelt gratitude to teachers, calling them the guiding lights who enrich not only institutions but entire nations with knowledge, research, and values.

He reaffirmed his commitment that AMC, Postgraduate Medical Institute (PGMI), and Lahore General Hospital (LGH) will continue to promote academic excellence, expand research opportunities, and uphold the professional dignity of the teaching community.
