Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif has said terrorism has no religion and joint and collective measures are inevitable at international level to eliminate this scourge.

He said this while talking to the newly appointed High Commissioner of Australia Tim Kane who called on PM here in Islamabad Friday.

The two exchanged views at length on promoting bilateral relations, trade and investment and mutual cooperation in diverse areas in the meeting.

Deputy Prime Minister and foreign senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, special assistant Tariq Fatimi and foreign secretary were also present on the occasion.

The PM while welcoming positive movement forward between both the countries expressed his desire to take the ties to new heights.

He highlighted the agriculture and livestock sector as a promising area for enhanced cooperation.

The Prime Minister also welcomed Australian interest in the mining and minerals sector, citing Reko-Diq as a shining example of the enormous potential of this sector in Pakistan.

Lauding the services being rendered by Pakistani community in Australia, PM said they are serving as vital bridge between two countries.

The Prime Minister noted that both Pakistan and Australia, enjoyed strong people-to-people linkages, and cultural ties, underpinned by their shared passion for cricket.

PM while condemning the cowardly act of terrorism strongly said Pakistan expresses complete solidarity with the people and government of Australia at this hour of grief.
