The judge who speaks the truth is subjected to revenge, writes Justice Athar Minallah to CJP

Islamabad: Supreme Court (SC) senior judge Athar Minallah has written a letter to Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Yahya Afridi on the matter of 27th constitutional amendment.

The letter which was written on October 08 has come to light.

Justice Athar Minallah has written in the letter that SC has often stood with the powerful and not with the people.

Execution of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto was unforgiveable offence of judiciary.

He further stated that the proceedings against Benazir Bhutto, Nawaz Sharif, and Maryam Nawaz were part of the same chain of oppression, and the treatment meted out to Imran Khan was a continuation of that injustice.

He held Islamabad High Court (IHC) was targeted over its winning people trust .

Letters and confessions of brave judges are burden on the conscience of the SC, adding, 'We know the truth but confine it to whispers in tea houses.'

He observed external interference is no more a secret and is an open reality. The judge who speaks the truth is subjected to revenge.
