Under Alkhidmat Women Trust Lahore, marriage gifts distributed among 30 deserving families

Lahore: Serving humanity is an act of worship. Alkhidmat Foundation is the only welfare organization in Pakistan that, without any discrimination of color or race, is serving in every social and community sector-not only in Pakistan but across the world-and this service is being acknowledged internationally as well.These views were expressed by Vice President of Alkhidmat Women Trust, Saba Saqib, while addressing the ceremony organized by Alkhidmat Women Trust Lahore for distributing marriage boxes among 30 deserving families for their daughters.The ceremony was attended by Samina Saeed, Deputy Secretary General Jamaat-e-Islami Women Wing Pakistan; Zarfashan Farheen, General Manager Alkhidmat Women Trust Pakistan; social activist Ruqayya; Talat Khan, program incharge for marriage boxes; and other distinguished guests.Saba Saqib said that whenever Pakistan or any country in the world has faced natural disasters or other crises threatening human life, Alkhidmat has played a vital role in rescuing victims and supporting their rehabilitation. A major example of this is the relief efforts for the Muslims of Gaza who are facing Israeli oppression. She added that assistance has also been offered for flood victims in Sri Lanka.She further said that in Pakistan, Alkhidmat is serving in various sectors including education, health, provision of clean drinking water, distribution of winter bedding to the needy, training and educating youth, and empowering men and women with skills for employment. She mentioned that Alkhidmat Women Trust has so far provided dowry items to thousands of deserving families, helping them in the marriages of their daughters.She prayed that the girls receiving the dowry boxes may be blessed with good fortune and successful married lives. On this occasion, the girls receiving the dowry boxes were symbolically presented red dupattas.The dowry items included: bridal dress, clothes for the bride and groom, dinner set, trunk, kitchen items, bedding, water cooler, shoes, and various other hou sehold items.
