Uniform is not only a dress but also it is a pledge for security and service of people: Interior minister

Islamabad: Interior minister Mohsin Naqvi has said no compromise whatsoever will be made on security of federal capital and all sources will be utilized for eradication of terrorism.

Protecting citizens of Islamabad is top priority of government, he said this while addressing passing out parade in police line headquarters.

He held the present force was not having requisite training to curb terrorism in the past. However regular and professional training of the jawans was started under supervision of officers who had come from army three months earlier.

Newly trained force was inevitable to deal with prevailing security situation and wave of terrorism in befitting manner.

Government is providing modern technology and sources to police. The officers and jawans who have come from outside the city will also receive training in Islamabad so that professional standard could be improved.

He announced to introduce reforms in traffic police and driving license system in coming days.

No compromise will be made on merit and transparency in police force. There is no room for black sheep.

Paying rich tributes to police martyrs he said their sacrifices will not go waste.

He said uniform is not only a dress but also it is a pledge for security and service of people. Therefore, every jawan will have to adopt sympathetic and helpful attitude with the citizens by staying alert.

He reiterated resolve that no negligence will be tolerated with reference to peace and security of federal capital.
