Rawalpindi: President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, His Excellency Shavkat Mirziyoyev, along with senior members of his delegation, paid an official visit to Global Industrial and Defence Solutions (GIDS) on Wednesday as part of his ongoing visit to Pakistan.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Force, warmly received the Uzbek president and accompanying ministers and personally conducted them during the visit to the facility.

During the visit, the Uzbek delegation was briefed on GIDS' diverse portfolio, which includes advanced defence solutions, industrial capabilities, and cutting-edge technological innovations. The delegation also toured key facilities and observed a range of defence products, highlighting Pakistan's growing expertise in indigenous defence production and industrial development.

The visit underscored the shared commitment of Pakistan and Uzbekistan to deepen collaboration in the defence, technology, and industrial sectors. Both sides emphasized the importance of enhancing bilateral partnerships through knowledge exchange, joint ventures, and expanded cooperation.

The engagement marked a significant step toward strengthening bilateral relations and exploring multiple avenues of cooperation between Pakistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
