Islamabad: Wafaqi Mohtasib for protection against harassment Fouzia Waqar has dismissed the accused from service and imposed fine of Rs 10 lac in the case of harassment at work place.

The complaint of a lady assistant private secretary of a federal department was approved in the decision announced on August 17, 2026. According to complainant one junior clerk of the department came to her office on November 14, 2025 and misbehaved with her.

The allegation was that the accused through unwanted sexual advance pushed her to wall and gagged her mouth. The complainant informed deputy director Adman in this regard soon after the incident. The statements of witnesses too confirmed the matter of immediate information and mental torture of the complainant.

Wafaqi Mohtasib while declaring the evidence of complainant credible maintained the attitude of accused No 1 falls under the orbit of sexual harassment vide section 2 (h)(i) of act 2010. Resultantly the rigorous punishment of dismissal from service was announced to accused No 1 under section 4(4)(11)(d) after the allegation was proved against him. Rs 10 lac fine was also slapped on him. Rs 8 lac out of this money will be paid to the complainant as compensation while Rs 2 lac will be deposited in national kitty.

This allegation could not prove against accused No 2 that he provided protection to accused No 1.

It was said in the decision he had made proper arrangements to bring the matter to the notice of concerned authorities. Therefore, he was acquitted and complaint against him was dismissed.

Wafaqi Mohtasib for protection against harassment made it clear the institution is pursuing zero tolerance policy strictly against harassment at work place.
