WB Chief visits historic Julian Buddhist Monastery in Haripur

Rawalpindi: President of the World Bank, Ajay Banga visited the historic Julian Buddhist Monastery along with Minister for Finance, Muhammad Aurangzeb in Haripur.

During the visit, World Bank President expressed satisfaction over the excellent condition of the archaeological site and appreciated efforts for the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage.

He said that tourism could serve as an important driver for job creation and sustainable economic growth in Pakistan.

The delegation underscored the importance of international cooperation for the preservation of Pakistan's cultural heritage and the promotion of tourism.
