LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) has adjourned till next week hearing of petitions seeking court's order for eradication of smog .During the hearing of the case, Justice Shahid Karim remarked it is beyond my comprehension that these deputy commissioners (DCs) do what. If Deputy Commissioner (DC) of a district wants to do some thing then revolution will come.The petitions came up for hearing before Justice Shahid Karim of LHC here Friday.The counsel for LDA requested that directives be issued to all DCs that procedure be evolved for destroying plastic bag.The court remarked earlier they took the shopping bags from their homes. These bags should be taken from home now too. If DC of a district wants to do some thing then revolution will come. I don't understand these deputy commissioners do what.He further remarked DC is very powerful. He should only come outside and see what was going on.The court directed Judicial commission to take action and impose fine of Rs 1 lac for wasting water in ho using societies for the sake of conservation of water.The court also directed to start cleanliness awareness campaign with the children of schools.Justice Shahid Karim remarked the home is not only that where we live but the entire country is our home. The children should start cleanliness campaign with their parents on the occasion of labor day on May 01. How enormous injustice is this the laborer works on May 01 and we enjoy holiday at home.The court adjourned the hearing of the case till next week.The counsel for LDA told the court illegal activities are underway in Jauhar town. People have rented out their homes to banks and cafes. LDA wants to conduct operation and wants to end illegal activities. Owners of cafes bring stay order from courts. The department cannot initiate departmental proceedings.The court ordered that the department should approach the concerned court and get end the stay order.The court adjourned the hearing of the case till next week.
