Yahya, Bhutto, Mujib key figures in fall of Dhaka: JI Chief

Lahore: Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Emir Engineer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has said that General Yahya Khan, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, and Sheikh Mujibur Rahman were the three central figures responsible for the fall of Dhaka.Expressing his views on the tragedy of East Pakistan in a post on the social media platform X, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman stated that Pakistan was created on the aspirations of millions of people and on promises made by its leadership, but the promised system was never established. Instead, he said, the British-imposed system continued to prevail, which promoted injustices. As a result, he added, the enemy took advantage of these weaknesses, ultimately leading to the division of the country.The JI Emir emphasized that without replacing the existing system and establishing an Islamic system based on justice and fairness, it is impossible to prevent such tragedies. He said that liberation from the decayed system of oppression and coercion is the most important lesson of the Dhaka tragedy.
