Zartaj Gul should first surrender and then we will hear her appeals: LHC

Lahore: Lahore High Court (LHC) has refused to hear petitions filed by PTI leader Zartaj Gul without surrendering by her. Court also ordered to present Zartaj Gul before it.

Appeal pleas by Zartaj Gul against her conviction in 3 cases related to May 9 incident as objection came up before LHC for hearing Monday.

Chief Justice (CJ) LHC Aalia Neelum while ordering Zartaj Gul to appear before it remarked Zartaj Gul be presented first and then court will hear the appeal.

A two members bench of LHC presided over by Chief Justice Aalia Neelum upheld registrar office objection.

Registrar office LHC had raised objections over appeal pleas of Zartaj Gul against her conviction that she is convicted. Therefore, she should surrender first because appeal is not maintainable without surrendering .

Zartaj Gul has filed appeal pleas through senior lawyers Mian Muhammad Hussain Chotiya and barrister Ali Zafar.

3 separate appeals have been filed against 3 decisions by ATC Faisalabad in May 9 related cases.

Registrar office has raised objection of not surrendering by Zartaj Gul on these appeal pleas.

ATC Faisalabad has awarded punishment of 10 years each in three separate cases to Zartaj Gul.
