National seminar on card to take all stakeholders on board for political inclusion of erstwhile fata: NA Speaker

ISLAMABAD : while chairing the working group on Political Affairs of Erstwhile FATA in Parliament House, Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser said that it is the prime priority of incumbent government to ensure enhanced political participation of Ex-FATA as without their inclusion the development and progress of Erstwhile FATA would not be sustainable.

The working group decided to invite all stakeholders including Representatives of FATA, FATA religious leaders and Youth groups separately for grand Seminar over FATA.

Noor-ul-Haq Minister for Religious Affairs said that working group on political affairs would pave way for political support to address the commitment made by the federal government and other stake holders regarding 3 percent extra share of NFC for Ex-FATA at the time of merger. He further added the working group well act as a grand Jirga and will be meeting all stakeholders separately for taking their input. He said that NFC Share of Ex-FATA would support development in the area.

Speaker Asad Qasier said that the development and prosperity in FATA require participation of all stakeholders including intellectuals, youth, politicians and ex-bureaucrats who belong to FATA. The working group also decided to take all stakeholders on board in this regard it was also decided to invite Public Representatives from FATA, Religious Scholars, and especially Youth from FATA separately. It was also decided to invite Mr. Sirtaj Aziz Senior Bureaucrat and Economist to seek his recommendations for governance and financial challenges.

MNA Khuram Dastigir also remarked that that the challenges of lack of health, education and land issues demand consultation of all those affected people and their public representatives are best to take guide in this regard. While mentioning issues regarding electricity and gas like basic facilities, he said that Federal government in collaboration with KPK government would take effective measures to resolve these issues.

The meeting of working group on Political Affairs of FATA as held under the Conveniership of Mr. Noor-ul-Haq Minister for Relgious Affairs, MNA Khuram Dastigir khan, MNA Mufti Abdul Shakoor, Senator Ayub Afridi, MNA Mr.Gul Dad Khan , MNA Khalid Hussain Magsi. the all participants put forth their suggestion regarding the matter.
