Islamabad: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Poverty Alleviation Dr Sania Nishtar said on Tuesday that SMS service has been launched for Ehsaas Rashan Registration.

Talking to media, Dr Sania Nishtar said that only one member of the family would be eligible for Ehsas ration discount and any member of the family can send ID Card number for registration.

She said that only one member of an applicant family, whose cell number was issued on his personal Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC), could enroll his or her family, through the 8171 SMS service.

She said that The Rs120 billion targeted subsidies programme would benefit 20 million families.

Grocery owners will only be able to register for the ration program on the Ehsaas Ration web portal, she concluded.
