Lahore: Over all 17 deaths occurred during Basant festival in Lahore. This was stated in a report presented in Lahore High Court (LHC).

As per media report the miscellaneous petition seeking number of deaths occurred during the Basant and other details came up for hearing in LHC Wednesday.

Home department presented report regarding deaths on the eve of Basant in LHC.

As per home department report 17 deaths took place during Basant in Lahore.

3 persons died due to electrocution, 2 died by falling from tree, and 12 persons died by falling from roof tops.

The court also sought report on the persons who were injured due to kite string during the Basant.
