Lahore: Liaqat Baloch, Vice-Emir of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan and Secretary General of the Milli Yakjehti Council, has said that ending the political crisis within the country is essential for the complete eradication of terrorism. He described the recent incidents of terrorism in Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, and now Punjab as extremely alarming. In an interview with a local TV channel, Liaqat Baloch strongly condemned the growing persecution of minorities, particularly Muslims, in India under the dark era of Narendra Modi. He referred to a recent incident in Rajasthan, where a BJP-affiliated extremist refused to distribute relief goods to poor Muslim women, telling them that their crime was being Muslim and criticizing Modi. Baloch said that the rising violence, discrimination, and prejudice against minorities in India expose the ugly face of Hindu extremism and reflect the deep-rooted hatred of radical Hindutva elements and fanatical BJP activists against Muslims. He urged the United Nations Security Council to take strict action against India's discriminatory, hateful, and oppressive policies toward minorities, especially Muslims. He added that the presence of extremist and vengeful leadership in democratic countries is a lethal poison for both democracy and humanity.Liaqat Baloch further said that the growing wave of terrorism in Pakistan, particularly in Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, and Punjab, was a matter of grave concern. He said that India is the mastermind behind organized terrorism in Pakistan, adding that after suffering a humiliating defeat in the war, India is resorting to toxic propaganda and terrorist activities to destabilize Pakistan. Paying tribute to the sacrifices of Pakistan's security forces, he said that the martyrdom of officers and soldiers in the fight against 'Fitna-e-Hindustan' is a source of pride for the entire nation. He said the security forces are laying down their lives to protect the country and the nation, and the entire Pakistani nation stands firmly with them against hostile forces.Calling for a comprehensive strategy to eliminate terrorism, Liaqat Baloch stressed the need to end internal political crises, bridge the growing gap between the public and state institutions, and formulate a renewed National Action Plan through national consensus. While affirming that the nation prays for the success of the armed forces, he emphasized that the government and security institutions must also address public discontent and frustration to secure wholehearted public support.
