50 cases of one incident have been registered against Senator Azam Swati : Babar Awan tells court

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has adjourned till Friday the hearing of the PTI plea seeking details of the cases registered against the PTI senior leader and Senator Azam Swati with reference to controversial tweets.

The IHC ordered Deputy Attorney General (DAG) to obtain directives from interior secretary.

The Chief Justice (CJ) of IHC Aamer Farooq took up the Azam Swati petition for hearing Tuesday.

The petitioner said in the petition he came to know about registration of cases against him after he was sent on physical remand. Cases were registered in Sindh and Balochistan. The real number of the cases registered against him is not known to him. The provision of details of cases to him is must to use legal right.

Babar Awan counsel for the petitioner said as many as 50 cases of one incident have been registered against Azam Swati. Shifting of Azam Swati from Islamabad to other place be stopped.

IHC inquired how the interior secretary controls the provincial IGs. Check it and tell us the control of interior secretary is in the way it is being told to the court.

The court adjourned the hearing of the case till Friday.
