Lahore: Under the auspices of the Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) Foundation, the Friends of IPAC Gala 2025 was held at Governor House, Lahore, with the Acting Governor of Punjab, Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan, participating as the Chief Guest.
The event was attended by prominent personalities including Chairman Prime Minister's Youth Programme Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, Senator Rana Mahmood-ul-Hassan, government representatives, health professionals, philanthropists, and social partners.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Acting Governor emphasized that a sustainable health system relies on prevention, awareness, and timely diagnosis. He highlighted that preventive measures remain the most effective way to safeguard society against diseases and stressed the need for strong coordination among government institutions, civil society, and medical professionals to control polio, hepatitis, tuberculosis, and other communicable diseases.
He commended the IPAC Foundation for its role since 2016 in community-level early screening, health awareness, and promotion of preventive healthcare. A key highlight of the event was the introduction of the Rana Zaid IPAC Community Health Center in Jhang, supported by Rana Zahid Hamid and family, which aims to provide basic healthcare facilities to remote and underprivileged communities.
The Acting Governor also referred to Punjab government initiatives including vaccination drives, sanitation and hygiene campaigns, anti-dengue and polio programs, public health legislation, and provision of modern medical facilities. He underscored that promoting preventive health not only reduces disease burden but also conserves national resources.
Dr. Sami Shafai, Chairman Board of Trustees, IPAC Foundation, stated that community participation, awareness, and prevention are essential for a sustainable health system. The ceremony concluded with collective commitment and support for the Community Health Center project in Jhang, reflecting a joint resolve of government, institutions, and society.
