Afghan nationals married to Pakistani women be not deported: PHC

Peshawar: Peshawar High Court (PHC) has ordered not to deport Afghan citizens who have got married to Pakistani women.PHC issued written order on the petitions filed by Pakistani women for citizenship of their Afghan husbands.It has been said in the decision that the petitioners should apply in NADRA and NADRA should see the case of applicants as per law. The applicant be not deported unless NADRA decides about this case.The court remarked husband of woman petitioner is Afghan citizen. The petitioner has applied in NADRA for Pakistan Origin Card (POC) in connection with citizenship. According to counsel NADRA has not issued card to husband of the applicant.It has been said in the decision this court had given decision in Noreen versus state case on December 1, 2023. In this case NADRA legal director had said in the court even if one among husband and wife is Pakistani then registration of children cannot be refused. According to counsel the petitioner is Pakistani citizen having children.It has bee n said in the decision that this case is wrapped up in the light of December 01, 2023 decision. The petitioner should apply to NADRA and NADRA should see this case according to law.The petitioner be not deported till the decision of the case.
