lahore: In view of the recent war-like situation, an emergency press briefing was held regarding Alkhidmat Foundation's rescue and relief operations.The briefing was attended by Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan's Secretary General Syed Waqas Jafri, Assistant Secretary General Ikram-ul-Haq Subhani, Vice President Zakrullah Mujahid, Chairman Alkhidmat Health Professor Dr. Muhammad Zahid Latif, and CEO Khubaib Bilal.Syed Waqas Jafri stated on the occasion that in response to the recent emergency situation and aggression against civilian populations, Alkhidmat Foundation has initiated prompt and effective measures. The foundation has updated its 41 Alkhidmat Response Centers across the country, and War Crisis Management Cells have been established at the central level as well as in four major regions—South Punjab, Central Punjab, Lahore, and Azad Kashmir—to ensure a swift and organized response to any emergency.Alkhidmat Foundation has dispatched trucks loaded with relief supplies to the Line of Control and af fected areas, including 15 mobile health units, 50 ambulances, medicines worth 10 million rupees, 1,000 tents, and 5,000 tarpaulins.Ikram-ul-Haq Subhani added that Alkhidmat Foundation is in full coordination and communication with the Government of Pakistan, the Pakistan Armed Forces, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), Provincial Disaster Management Authorities (PDMAs), and Rescue 1122. In addition, a training program is being developed to train people of all age groups on how to respond to emergencies and play an active role as responsible citizens, he added. If the situation worsens and the risk of internal displacement increases, Alkhidmat Foundation will establish temporary tent settlements and also provide transportation facilities for the affected individuals, he remarked.Professor Dr. Muhammad Zahid Latif stated that Alkhidmat Foundation has prepared its 57 hospitals in anticipation of emergency situations, with 30% of the beds allocated specifically for wartime needs. The foundati on has already sent medicines worth 10 million rupees to the affected areas, and in the first phase, it is in the process of purchasing additional medicines worth 100 million rupees to ensure that medical supplies are fully stocked and can be promptly delivered when needed.In conclusion, Syed Waqas Jafri assured that, as always, Alkhidmat Foundation stands with the nation during this critical time and will continue to serve the affected people by utilizing all its capacities, resources, and volunteer force.
