Appeal against conviction in 190 million pounds case: PTI founder moves IHC for his meeting with lawyers for legal consultation

Islamabad: PTI founder has filed petition in Islamabad High Court (IHC) for his immediate and uninterrupted meeting with his lawyers for legal consultation in connection with appeal plea against conviction in 190 million pounds case. The petition has been filed through barrister Suleman Safdar in IHC making chairman NAB, IG Jails Punjab and superintendent Adiala jail respondents.

The petition said no purposeful meeting of PTI founder with his counsel could take place after December 20, 2025.,The PTI founder has been kept deprived of legal access since 3 months and 12 days.

It was further said in the petition the plea seeking suspension of the sentence is pending since March 19, 2025. Hearing on it has taken place on 16 different dates. This attitude of NAB is like that of creating delay deliberately and hampering the proceedings of the case.

The petitioner took the plea in miscellaneous petition jail authorities have foiled all the efforts for meeting with lawyers. The right to meeting with the lawyer is basic right as per Jail rules 1978 and article 10.9 -A and 14 of the constitution

The court should order for meeting of both the appellants with lawyer in connection with preparation of the appeal plea.
