Lahore: Lahore High Court (LHC) has sought reports from different departments during hearing of case regarding elimination of smog besides adjourning the hearing of the case till April 16.Justice Shahid Karim of LHC took up for hearing petitions filed by Haroon Farooq and others Friday.Auqaf Department presented in the court , the circular on creating awareness about wastage of water in Jumma discourse in the court.The court while expressing satisfaction over notification of Environment department regarding ban on new service stations said such steps are appreciable.The court remarked it is responsibility of all citizens to play their role for conservation of water.The court also declared the process of washing vehicles through water pipe and monitoring it through safe city commendable.The court remarked giving awareness to people in their homes about wastage of water is imperative.LDA filed report in the court regarding free sports facilities for athletes and reconstruction of Tollinton market.The court directed MCL and LDA that maps of homes of people be not approved without recycling plan.The court proposed to take steps for providing waste water of factories to PHA after their treatment.Counsel for LDA told the court if violation of commercial activity is being done any where their officers take pictures and upload them in application. Due to it timely awareness is created.Environmental commission presented implementation reports in the court.
