Peshawar: PTI leader Azam Swati has filed contempt of court plea in Peshawar High Court (PHC) against preventing him from going abroad.

Azam Swati filed contempt of court plea through his counsel Ali Azeem Afridi advocate Wednesday in PHC.

The petition said flight of Azam Swati was to depart from Peshawar airport to Dubai on Wednesday morning. PHC had allowed Azam Swati to go abroad.

Counsel for Azam Swati took the plea Azam Swati was stopped at airport despite court's orders.

The counsel said the court had issued orders yesterday that Azam Swati be removed from Exit Control List (ECL).

He requested the court to allow Azam Swati to go abroad.

He argued Azam Swati was not allowed to go abroad which is tantamount to contempt of court. Therefore, contempt of court proceedings be initiated against the concerned authorities.
