Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) while issuing notice in the case against not obtaining signatures on power of attorney from PTI founder has sought reply from superintendent Adiala jail till May 25.
The IHC issued these directives on Monday.
Justice Ghulam Hussain Soomro took up for hearing petition filed by counsel Khalid Yusuf.
Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro inquired what is legal procedure on this count.
Counsel Yusuf Chaudhry said legal process is available in this regard. Jail policy is also mentioned.
The counsel presented Lahore High Court (LHC) decision as precedent. Jail rules are very clear in regard to access to prisoner. Nelson Mandela rules are there at international level regarding prisoners.
The counsel Khalid Yusuf Chaudhry said I went to Adiala jail for five times but documents were not received from me. The power of attorney were sent through courier but it was said those have not been received by them. Jail authorities said there is no permission and when permission will be given they will tell me.
The IHC while issuing notice sought reply from superintendent Adiala Jail besides adjourning hearing of the case till May 25.
