National essay writing competition ‘On His (PBUH) Footsteps’ Award Ceremony held in Islamabad

Islamabad: A prestigious award distribution ceremony for the national essay writing competition titled 'un k Naqsh-e-Qadam par' was held in Islamabad to commemorate the 1500th anniversary of the arrival of ‘Š ¡¡š‡¡?¤ Prophet Muhammad ? in this world.

The event was attended by the Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, Ambassador of the Republic of Trkiye Dr. Irfan Neziroglu, distinguished guests, religious scholars, teachers, students, and people from various walks of life.

The ceremony was organized jointly by the Counselor Office for Religious Affairs, Embassy of the Republic of Trkiye, and Diyanet Foundation Trkiye. The purpose of the competition was to promote love for the Holy Prophet ?, encourage the study of Seerat-un-Nabi ?, and inspire the younger generation to follow the practical teachings of the Prophet ?.

According to the organizers, the competition reached hundreds of schools and thousands of students across Pakistan, while a total of 612 students submitted their essays. Prizes and certificates were distributed among the successful participants.

Addressing the ceremony, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf said that the Holy Prophet Muhammad ? is the perfect role model for all humanity, and that the true solution to the moral crises, hatred, and divisions faced by the modern world lies in the teachings and Seerah of the Prophet ?.

He stated that the Ministry of Religious Affairs continues to undertake initiatives for the promotion of the Qur'an and Seerah, intellectual and moral development of youth, and revival of Islamic values. These initiatives include the National Seerat-un-Nabi ? Conference, Seerah essay competitions, Naat and research competitions, as well as national and international Qur'an recitation and memorization contests.

He also praised the longstanding brotherly relations between Pakistan and Trkiye, stating that the ties between the two countries are rooted in shared faith, history, culture, and fraternity, and that cooperation in educational and spiritual fields continues to grow stronger.

Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador of Trkiye Dr. Irfan Neziroglu highlighted the educational, social, and welfare services of Diyanet Foundation Pakistan. He stated that the foundation is actively engaged in humanitarian assistance, education, orphan support, and relief activities for people affected by natural disasters across Pakistan.

He further shared that during the previous Ramadan, thousands of deserving families received ration packages, Eid gifts, and participated in collective Iftar arrangements, while sacrificial meat was distributed nationwide during Eid-ul-Adha 2025.

The Ambassador also noted that Diyanet Foundation Pakistan provides scholarships to students from higher secondary education up to PhD level. In addition, the foundation is carrying out educational projects in Balochistan and other areas, supporting orphaned children, publishing Islamic literature, constructing and renovating mosques, and conducting relief operations during natural disasters. The Urdu children's magazine 'Nujeem' is also reaching thousands of young readers across the country.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, tribute was paid to the successful students, their parents, teachers, and organizers. The participants reaffirmed their commitment to continue organizing such intellectual and educational programs aimed at enlightening the younger generation with the teachings of the Qur'an, Sunnah, and the blessed Seerah of Prophet Muhammad ?.
