Islamabad: Chairman Senate Yousaf Raza Gilani has congratulated the newly elected leadership of the National Press Club Islamabad, extending best wishes to President Abdul Razzaq Sial, Secretary Dr. Furqan Rao, and Vice President Usman Khan.

He said the National Press Club has played a vital role in promoting free and independent journalism and strengthening democratic values in the country.

The Chairman expressed hope that the new leadership would address challenges faced by journalists and perform their responsibilities with professionalism and dedication.

He emphasized that free, informed, and responsible journalism is essential for national development, democratic stability, and public awareness.

Yousaf Raza Gilani also stated that Parliament has consistently supported the journalist community through legislation ensuring their rights, protection, and safety, and reaffirmed that this support will continue.

He expressed confidence that the newly elected leadership will meet the expectations of the journalist community and uphold their trust.
