Rawalpindi: General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, NI, NI (M), Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), paid a farewell visit to Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), at General Headquarters (GHQ) today.
During the meeting, the COAS commended General Sahir for his exemplary leadership, strategic foresight, and dedicated service to the Pakistan Armed Forces. He praised the CJCSCs key role in enhancing tri-service coordination, strengthening joint operational readiness, and advancing Pakistans national security objectives at the strategic level.
The COAS also highlighted General Sahirs contributions to regional stability, military diplomacy, and fostering partnerships with friendly countries.
General Sahir Shamshad Mirza expressed gratitude to the COAS and the Armed Forces for the support extended throughout his career.
Upon arrival at GHQ, the CJCSC laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada and received a Guard of Honour from a smartly turned-out contingent of the Pakistan Army.
